View of Bear Claw Mountain from the top of the Olympia Express chair lift at Winter Park Ski Resort, Colorado. When you get off the lift and turn to your left, you are staring at Perry’s Peak across the valley. Many call this “Bear Claw” mountain because it looks like a giant bear just ripped his claws down the side of the mountain.

Earlier in the day, and on heavily overcast days, these distinct markings are not very clear, because the entire face of the mountain is in the shadows. But around 2:00 PM on a clear day, the position of the sun provides the perfect shadows to really accentuate the bear claw markings.

I love this view from the top of the Olympia Express lift!
